Dr. Donal Conway
For
my 13th birthday, my Dad said I could have
anything I wanted. I asked for a drum set, he gave me
an acoustic guitar! In 1991, my brother Paul (bassist for NYC bands Rail and Pop Mafia) came to visit
me in Dublin. He stepped off the plane, handed me a
Fender strat and said, "Now start playing a real
guitar!" When DNR was looking for a new guitarist, I
was in the right place at the right time. The rest is
history. Thanks, Paul.

My
Dad never had the chance to see us play, but he always
commented on how excited I sounded talking about a gig.
Being a part of DNR has been an incredible ride. Working
with such good friends and talented musicians is an
amazing experience.
Good
health, great friends, a loving family, rock and
roll. What more could you want? (except maybe a Gibson
Les Paul and a glass of Jameson).
Here's to you Dad (April 16, 1938-August 4, 2006).
